Katie Yamane is the artist behind @freshfaceandlovelylocks. She's a lifelong enthusiast of the beauty industry with 6+ years of experience under her belt.

Graduating from the Aveda Institute of Cosmetology in 2015, Katie has a reputation for her high standard of quality among industry peers. Her experience ranges from brides, to salon work, to competitions and styled shoots, and everything in between. She is a specialist in bridal and photography hair and makeup.

Makeup is a creative outlet that has helped Katie acknowledge the profound beauty in every individual. For two years, she enjoyed doing hair and makeup for photoshoots at a retreat for survivors of childhood sexual abuse— while there, she was able to apply makeup to more than 200 faces a year. Those inspiring faces of survivors taught her that beauty begins within, and a smile can change your whole attitude.

Today, Katie works as a freelance artist. In her free time, Katie enjoys singing with her family, playing sports and card games with her husband, snuggling her daughter and puppy, and dipping warm chocolate chip cookies into a glass of milk. Katie is an active reader, camper, traveler and lipstick-lover.
